Drug Testing InformationSweat Drug Tests are rarely used anymore. The reason for this is because they are believed to be not as accurate and efficient as other methods of drug testing now. They were originally used by parole officers, child protective services, and other federal or state agencies. After much debate, many agencies have opted for Hair Follicle Testing and Urine Drug Testing instead. Sweat Tests involve placing a patch on a person's body, typically for a few weeks or longer. This patch is designed to be tamper-resistant, so if a person attempts to remove the patch, the tester will be able to tell. The patch is used to monitor the person so that after the monitored time frame has ended, the patch is removed and sent to a lab to be tested for drugs. If drugs were used by the person during the time frame they had the patch on, it will most likely test positive for drugs, since metabolites of drugs are often excreted through the sweat glands. |
